Online Video Training Course
This course provides an in depth understanding of the newest Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building certification process. LEED continues to be the standard for green building practices and this course focuses on understanding the management procedures associated with an actual LEED project. Students will learn how to manage a LEED project through every step of the certification process.
This course is designed to fulfill a major prerequisite for the Green Associate and LEED AP specialty accreditation exam. By the end of this course, you should be able to:
- Manage a LEED project
- Navigate the LEEDOnline.com website
- Know how to register a LEED project and invite project team members
- Lead up the design team and facilitate an eco-charette
- Manage a project scorecard
- Identify ways to maximize credit achievements
- Work with other project team members, architects, engineers, and general contractors
About the Online Program
Our innovative online training program is more than just a simple slideshow and test. You will be invited on as a member of a real, working LEED project as a team member. You will fill out credit templates and participate just like any other LEED AP would. And when you're done, our instructor will review your work and issue your Letter of Attestation right away.
It begins with our video training portion. The first video is an eco-charette, a sort of group meeting that goes over the project credit-by-credit to see which credits can be achieved, and which need work or will be ignored entirely. Next, you move on to the video explaining LEED Online and showing how to use the credit templates.
Then comes your part - you will log onto LEED Online during the given date range and fill out your assigned credits using the credit documentation provided in the training area. That's it! Training dates are every Monday through Thursday, so you'll have four days to log in and edit your credit templates - and of course, if you need more time, we're happy to help. Take a look at the video orientation to the right for more
information on the program.
