Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED)

The LEED credential is one of the most highly sought-after Green Building Accreditations available today, especially given that many state governments require all new buildings to be LEED certified from the get-go. The exam to become a LEED Accredited Professional (AP) is a difficult one, but the Green Professional Training Center is here to help.

Our training materials focus on making this dense material easy to understand by using learning methods common to most people - video instruction, audio instruction, and repetition with flashcards. In addition, we also offer a comprehensive exam study guide for each study track with hundreds of pages of credit-specific information and assistance, as well as fully-featured exam simulators to help you get a feel for what the actual test is like, with the freedom to take it as often as you like. And finally, upon completion of the course, you will recieve a certificate of completion, not only as a way of showing off your hard work, but as a way of showing eligibility based on the education requirement of the Green Associate exam!

LEED Training LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing thirdparty verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts. Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED provides building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions. Why LEED Certification? As most new construction and all government projects are required to meet LEED standards, it is imperative that you become a LEED Accredited Professional. This certification not only qualifies you to manage LEED projects, but will enhance your marketability throughout the building and design industry. The LEED Green Associate (GA) 2-day class is ideal for individuals wanting to prepare for the LEED Green Associate exam or simply gain a basic understanding of green building design, construction, and operations. GPTC instructors will review the credit rating system, the certifying process, and various tips and tricks for passing the exam. The LEED Green Associate (GA) credential is the prerequisite for AP accreditation and is now an industry standard, designed for professionals to demonstrate a basic knowledge of green design, construction, and operations, but who do not necessarily participate in design and construction work. The LEED AP Building Design & Construction (BD&C) specialty is geared toward professionals participating in the design and construction phases of durable, economical, and efficient high-performance buildings. BD&C accredited professionals apply their knowledge to commercial, institutional, and high-rise residential construction projects. LEED AP BD&C professionals who have taken this course and passed the two-hour exam have a thorough understanding of the prerequisites and credits to achieve LEED certification for New Construction, Core & Shell, and LEED for Schools. The LEED AP Operations & Maintenance (O&M) specialty addresses green practices in existing building daily operations, improvements and maintenance. LEED AP O&M professionals who have taken and passed this two hour exam have a deep understanding of the prerequisites and credits required for buildings to obtain the LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance certification which covers exterior building site maintenance programs, water and energy use, environmentally-preferred cleaning products/practices, sustainable purchasing policies, waste stream management, and indoor environmental quality. The LEED AP Interior Design & Construction (ID+C) specialty replaces the LEED AP for Commercial Interiors accreditation. This certification is geared toward professionals participating in the design, renovation, and construction of high-performance, cost-efficient commercial and residential spaces. LEED AP ID+C professionals who have taken and passed the exam understand all of the prerequisites and credits required for buildings to obtain the LEED for Commercial Interiors certification. Specifically, this course addresses Indoor Environmental Quality, Water Efficiency, Energy & Atmosphere and sustainability as it pertains to innovation and design. The LEED for Homes specialty addresses the LEED for Homes rating system that promotes the design and construction of high-performance Green homes. Green homes use less energy, water and natural resource, create less waste, and are more durable and comfortable for occupants. The LEED for Homes class is ideal for residential builders, contractors and landscapers to understand the basics of LEED building and how it applies to the residential atmosphere just as well as commercial space
